Quite simply
You do not have to give up everything and go and live a hermit's life in a forest to reconnect with nature. Toiling on the land in attempt to become self sufficient is not for everybody. Still, most people faced with the stresses and hurly burly of modern life feel that something is lacking.
Do not be misguidedly seduced by a romantic vision of a lost golden age that never existed.
The truth is that we have a history where previous eras were hard and uncomfortable. The thirst for the flowery cottage and the simple country life portrayed by Victorian Artists like Helen Allingham, leads only to long hours of hard tiring work in cold rain and snow. Village life can be just as lonely and self sufficiency although admirable is in reality a tedious and hard task.
Do not believe that you can buy the hidden powers of nature. What is the point of paying to go on “retreat”, spending large sums of money on wearing weird costumes and buying expensive equipment? How many people have been fooled into giving their money to charlatans, who they believe can sell them this precious commodity for the right price.
Here is an easy and enjoyable method of bringing a bit of Nature back into your life. You can do as little or as much as you want, but rest easy in the knowledge that how ever much you do, it will be helping you, your planet and all the other things that live on it.
If after a while you do want to go off and perhaps grow your own forest to sit in the middle of, then more power to you and at least then you will be doing it with full knowledge and for the right reasons.
